Screencastify
As a Kindergarten and First Grade Combo teacher through Distance Learning, recording lesson videos for one grade level to watch while I taught the other grade level became very essential. Through the use of Screencastify, I was able to record and create engaging video lessons where the students could both see the activities/pages they were to complete while still being able to see myself. This was very beneficial when modeling and demonstrations were needed to enhance the video lesson. Additionally, when a student was absent, these video lessons were accessible to them so they could catch up on the learning they had missed.
Seesaw
As a Distance Learning teacher, Seesaw was very beneficial with providing students a choice with how to complete their assignments. Seesaw provides students with diverse tools such as using drag and drop features, using their finger or device writing instrument to write and create drawings, recording their voice, typing, etc. to show their learning through the use of technology. Additionally, Seesaw supports traditional learning tools by also having a camera tool where students can take a picture of assignments they complete with paper and pencil and attach it to the Seesaw assignment. This resource proved to be very valuable with supporting differentiated instruction.
i-Ready
This resource demonstrated its value with supporting my growth within the areas of assessing student learning and understanding and planning instruction and designing learning experiences for all students. i-Ready initially provides students with a diagnostic in order to determine what they know and what they need to strengthen. After the diagnostic, this resource then provides students with lessons which are designed to support their growth and learning in the areas they need to strengthen. Additionally, this resource provides me with information on how to group students, depending on their shared needs, as well as targeted small group lessons I can do with these groups in order to additionally support their growth.
